Humana Senior Financial Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the compilation and analysis of financial data for Divisional operations. Provides support and coordination for reporting of financial and statistical data from the branches. Works through the Director of Finance, HomeCare, and Hospice to ensure the integrity of the Division’s financial statements and the safeguarding of its assets.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information from various revenue and billing software systems as part of the monthly close process.

  • Analyzes certain balance sheets and expense accounts.

  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets and/or prior periods.

  • Assists with the production of month-end financial reporting packages for Divisional and Corporate senior management to use in analyzing monthly operations.

  • Prepares ad hoc reports as requested by senior management.

  • Assists with compilation of documentation requests from internal and external auditors.

  • Assists with the annual operating budget process for the Division.

  • Identifies and recommends changes to policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and improve processes.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of accounting and financial analysis.

  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelors / Associates degree in related field

  • 5-7 years experience in accounting and financial analysis.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Works independently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to communicate in English effectively through verbal and written means.

  • Ability to work under stress and in emergency situations.

  • Excellent computer skills, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access.

  • Must read, write and speak fluent English.
